The closing quality of downspouts directly determines the drainage system's sealing performance and service life. Guosu configures the closing process based on material type and customer needs.
High-frequency welding is the core closing method for round downspouts, a filler-free process using skin effect and proximity effect to instantly heat the strip edges to 1300–1500℃, then forming a metallurgical bond under squeeze rolls — creating a seamless weld. Guosu downspout formers are equipped with high-precision HF welding systems synchronized with forming speed (0-12m/min), allowing precise control of temperature and pressure to ensure smooth, strong welds without defects while minimizing thermal distortion and maintaining roundness accuracy. Ideal for uncoated metal tubes (galvanized, stainless) — excellent sealing strength and large-diameter capability.
Lock-seaming (folded seam clinching) is the dedicated closing method for rectangular downspouts and coated tubes. It is a cold mechanical joining process — no heat applied. Special tooling folds and interlocks the two layers of metal at the tube seam, then flattens to form a tight mechanical lock for perfect sealing. The main advantage: zero thermal impact, preserving the coating (pre-painted surfaces) without damage or corrosion risk. The lock-seam provides high strength, neat appearance, and no post-processing grinding required. Guosu has optimized lock-seaming parameters (depth, bite force) for 0.4-0.6mm (expandable to 1.0mm) coated materials, perfectly suited for rectangular and custom-shaped downspouts.
